I’ve Launched a New Blog!

If I didn’t have enough to do with my limited time, I’ve gone and launched another new blog!

This one is a self hosted one, so it’s serious (not that free blogs are nor serious, just they aren’t used the same way by me). There is a madness in my method – blogs are money makers without doubt, but before they can make money they have to mature. This blog is not quite four months old and is doing rather well, but needs to gain more traffic and credibility, which it will do with age like most things.

But it’s always a good idea to have new blogs coming up from new to bolster the older ones with links, traffic and cross-blogging ability. (that’s a topic for another post)

The new blog is set into the work at home niche so although its focus will be Internet Marketing, it’s keywords are “work at home” rather than make money. Those keywords are not quite as competitive as make money, but are still tough to break into.

But I’m not put off by any of that, as I believe I can crack any niche given sufficient time and the backing of my older sites and blogs.

There is also a rear-guard action reason for the new blog and it has to do with the recent slapping a certain search engine has been doing to blogs which feature paid reviews. While it will take a minimum of three months to have the new blog ready to accept reviews, it can be getting prepared to do that and step in if either (or both) of my make money blogs suffer any mishaps along the way…

I’m confident that it will do as well as this one!

My New Make Money Website & Blog

Following my earlier revelations here about another new website of mine which is targeting the difficult keywords like PayDay Loans<, I omitted to mention the important addition to that new corner of my online mini-empire, the free blog! The idea behind setting up a free blog to complement the website is of course to help drive traffic to the main website as well as provide a one-way link to it to aid off-site SEO. So what about this blog then? The url is: PayDay Loans Page

Upon setting it up on the free Blogger platform, there are some interesting rules to be observed. As it targets the taboo keywords “payday loans”, it should not be monetized to begin with as that will set off warning flags at Google HQ of the possibility of a spam site being created, which it certainly is not.

To avoid that, I’ll make several content and keyword rich posts to the blog to let it grow naturally over the first couple of weeks and let it get indexed.

Once it’s had 10-12 posts and has been indexed by Google, then I’ll start to monetize it with some PPC ads and affiliate links. After all, there’s not much point in doing that at first as a new blog seldom gets any traffic anyway!

Some more article marketing will follow over the next few weeks to build up some more one-way backlinks and other free promotion techniques that I’ve blogged about in the past right here in this blog will come into play and I should start seeing some decent traffic.

The aim is to get the website, which has already been indexed by Google thanks to that first article posted to GoArticles, into the serps and then climbing up as high as possible to get some search engine traffic.

We shall wait in anticipation!

How the Day Goes

It’s strange how different days go in terms of workload. Some days start out with a fluster of energy and an absolute ton of work gets done and out of the way.

Then there are days like today that start slow, gradually grind to a halt around lunch time, stutter into life in the late afternoon, then rev up to full lunacy last thing at night when all of a sudden half a dozen tasks come up all at once and simply have to be dealt with.

It’s just a part of the wonderful joy of working for yourself at home on your trusty computer, with no whip cracking boss breathing down your neck and no clock to watch!

I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Make Money by Going Wide

The title is a little thought provoking, so I’d better get straight to the point and describe what I mean by “going wide”.

It’s actually a football term used when a player runs along the wings of the field, effectively widening the field of play to use the entire width of the pitch.

In terms of how to make money online, I’ve taken the same idea and used it to describe using the entire width of the promotion and marketing field to increase the exposure of your main sites and blogs by using secondary sites, free blogs and squidoo lenses to funnel traffic into them.

One could argue that by using free blogs and lenses, all the content that you write for them is for the benefit of the owner of that company, ie Squidoo benefits from all the traffic each lensmaster attracts to their own lens (which is simply a page hanging off the main squidoo.com site) as does Blogger.com, which is owned by Google.

But you can’t think in those terms, because if you get the idea in your head that all that work you’re doing is for someone else, you’re not going to put your heart and soul into it and will not reap the many benefits of spreading yourself “wide”.

In a way, it’s just like using article directories and ezines to post articles driving traffic back to your sites. You don’t think in terms of giving your content to these sites for their benefit, but on the contrary you are using their service to generate traffic and links to your main sites.
So what are these benefits?

Well, increased exposure by spreading your business name across lots of platforms which all attract their own sector of traffic. This traffic can easily be directed to your main sites thereby generating a much larger reader base for your main or core websites and blogs, which is where you’ll make the most money from. These sattelite sites will also generate their own income so you’ll make money from a wider collection of sites.

Using free blogs and squidoo lenses also means you can intelligently inter-link giving your main sites a lot of one-way backlinks from several different sources and platforms, thereby reducing the appearance to the search engines of using sites as link farms. These one-way links will count towards the page rank of your main sites.

If you’re using adsense or other CPC advertising method to make money, then you can spread these ads over a wider base of sites to increase your revenue from these. The same goes for affiliate products you promote – put your promotional blurb on your satelite sites to increase the chances of generating more affiliate sales.

By using a wider range of keywords specific to each satelite blog or lens you also increase your chances of getting more sites into the search engine results pages, which will bring you even more traffic and business branding exposure.

To conclude, if you have the time and the writing ability to generate enough unique content to fill many separate sites and blogs, then you should consider spreading yourself wider to attract more traffic and ultimately increase your ability to make money and some!
