Thinking About Changing Your Car?

If you’re looking for a used car anywhere in the UK, then you can do it with ease online. No more hunting through endless newspapers and magazines. One click and you’ll see more used vauxhall motors than you can shake a stick at.

Netcars is not surprisingly one of the UK’s biggest and most popular motoring websites. They offer an enormous selection of used cars that are on sale throughout the UK.

They don’t just sell used cars, but also provide the very latest motoring news as well as a great selection of used car reviews. All this gives you the chance to do all your research before you take the major leap of buying a new or used car.

To complete a first class service, you’ll even find competitive car loans and motor insurance quotes which are available at the click of your mouse.

Their website offers easy methods of putting you in touch with the car that you’re looking for. You can search on location, make and model, set your minimum and maximum price range and even select the maximum distance from your own postcode so if you only want to buy locally, you won’t get inundated with a load of cars hundreds of miles away from your home.

There is also an invaluable Autocheck function so that you you can check on the history of any used car you are about to buy. I personally liked this function as it gives real peace of mind when buying a used car, as you hear of so many tales of woe when people buy, say a Used Mercedes Benz and find out later that it had a mountain of outstanding finance on it, or worse that it was stolen.

If I wanted to, I could also sell my car through this site at very reasonable rates and reach thousands of buyers nationwide, so this really is an all-encompassing motorists website!

The Carbon Neutral Search Engine

On the 11th October 2007 an new search engine was launched in the UK that was fundamentally different from any other search engine that had gone before.

That doesn’t mean it differs in it’s ability to generate pages of relevant search results from any other search engine – it does that just as efficiently and effectively as any other.

What sets the Carbon Neutral Search Engine (CNSE) aside from the rest is in it’s pledge to offset the carbon footprint you create each time you initiate a search.

How will an online search function do that?

The CNSE aims to measure the amount of carbon used for each search initiated on its engine and to replace that which is used back into the environment. The initial offsetting will be undertaken by a company celled Climate Care who are a leading UK offsetting company.

Interestingly, they have to date offset over 1m tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions through various programs of environmental initiatives like reforestation, investing in renewable energy technology and energy efficiency projects.

So what about the search engine itself?

The CNSE is powered by Google, so has the backing of the largest of all the search engines to ensure your search results will be every bit as accurate and relevant to the search terms that you enter. It’s as easy to use as any other search engine, but also has the benefit of no advertising on it’s homepage to distract you from your search.

Interestingly, this is a UK initiative that was created with no outside funding and is run purely with a view to helping the environment and to do their bit to help slow down the effects of global warming through reducing the UK’s own carbon footprint.

By the way, they also pledge that should they hit ten thousand searches by 25th December (this year) they will double all carbon offsets. Considering they offset each search query processed by 100g or greater of carbon dioxide anyway, that should keep them busy for a while!

Blogging the Balance

Blogging in general is about keeping plenty of relevant and interesting posts coming to your blogs, which means keeping a healthy balance between those posts which are sponsored and those which are written for the blog.

Sometimes, when there are a lot of paid opportunities floating around it’s easy to get involved in grabbing as many as you can physically write because while they may be there today, they might not be there tomorrow.

So in times of plenty, reap the harvest while you can in preparation for times of famine.

Just make sure you keep the balance of your blogs healthy so your readers have good posts to read as well as the reviewed stuff!
